What can i say about this cake it has to be one of my favourites to date yet when it comes to wedding cakes

This cake was for the lovely Ryan and Katie, who wed at st Elizabeth house a few months ago. it was my first wedding cake delivery to this venue, and I must say its my favourite wedding venue in plymouth. So light and airy, modern yet friendly and the staff were so kind.

I trailed a new technique whilst making this cake, instead of buttercream I used chocolate ganache to smooth the layers of the cake inside, don't get me wrong it was very effective in making sharp crisp edges, but it's not a fan of being stored outside of a fridge for a long period of time. Needless to say in the summertime i won't be using chocolate ganache, ill stick to the old faithful.

Anyway, the design behind this cake was a joint effort between myself, the bride and groom, compiling lots of images and styles they loved together on Pinterest, and working it into there pastel/vintage theme.

I was impressed with how the final cake looked, and I really hope some of my future clients are brave enough to step out the box and add colour into there wedding cake.
